I have just returned from my sixth visit to your hotel in Cala Mesquida and would like to express my gratitude for providing us yet again with our chosen room. This makes the holiday much more special for us and I will ensure that we keep returning year after year. Also I would like to mentionthe new free computer suitelocated within the selcetion Club. This made my teenage son’s holiday much more enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

My wife, two girls (10 and 15) and myself thouroughly enjoyed our recent stay in the Cala Mesquida Resort. We opted for the additional sea view and were not disappointed, in fact we felt we had one of the best appartments you could wish for.
This is our second visit to a Viva hotel, we stayed on a half board basis which is always our preference and again the quality of both the food and accomodation was found to be excellent.Staff could not do enough and were always first class in any of their recommendations.Nice touches of fresh fruit and cava in the room on arrival along with a free round of drinks at the pool bar.
All being well we will be visiting a Viva hotel next year and would recommend their hotels to anyone looking for something with that extra touch.
Again thank you to all the restaurant and reception staff whom we met and of course all the other staff who we didn’t.

My wife and I stayed in one of your studios this May for a week. The studio itself was perfect for a couple and was kept clean, tidy and looked after to a very high standard. The hotel itself was also well looked after and remained in a high state of cleanliness throughout our stay. The staff seemed to be everywhere everyday cleaning and polishing and tidying!
The service and staff in all the restaurants and bars were faultless. The Mexican and Italian restaurants can be highly recommended not only for the food but for the friendliness of the staff as well. Our holiday was made all the more worthwhile by getting to know Antonio, Bernadi and Manuel for whom nothing was too much trouble.
The reception staff were also friendly and informative even apologising for the rain! All in all an establishment that should be proud of itself and its staff. We will definitely be booking again for next year when we can!,

The Viva Cala Mesquida Resort is a great vacation spot for families. It is situated right on the nice Cala Mesquida beach. My husband, our two boys (9 and 5) and me got a very clean and nice 1 bedroom suite in the front building with awesome ocean views and a fully equipped kitchen. The white sandy beach is nice and clean and the water clear without any sealife except for maybe some small fish. Ideal for small kids. The pool area is big and very appealing. There are several pools. One big pool is only 1,10m deep, which is great for non-swimmers. Free evening shows and entertainment. All-inclusive restaurants or self-catering. We bought breakfast and lunch food in one of the stores across the street and usually ate dinner either in one of the a la carte hotel restaurants or we took our rental car to nearby Cala Ratjada. From Palma airport a taxi ride costs Euro 100. We rented a car for the whole time. Hertz, Avis or Europcar are best, since they are right at the airport. You can also rent a car in the hotel if you just need it for a few days. There are mainly Germans, Scandinavians, Britts and Dutch in the hotel. There is nothing else to do in Cala Mesquida, so you either need a car or you just stay in the resort and relax. We had a perfect vacation!

Das Cala Mesquida Resort ist der “strandnaheste” Teil der Anlage und wenn man Kinder und Badesachen zu schleppen hat somit am praktischsten. Unserer Meinung nach unbedingt ein Zimmer mit Meerblick buchen (in unserem Fall TUI), die Aussicht ist traumhaft und dort ist es sehr ruhig! Qualität von Strand und Meer sind klasse, alledings fällt der Strand doch im Gegensatz z.B. zur Adriaküste und anderen längeren Strandabschnitten für Kleinkinder (unsere sind 3 Jahre und 18 Monate) relativ steil ins Meer ab und es gibt dort fast immer teils kräftige Wellen. Der Sand ist sehr sauber aber extrem “klebrig” und nur durch abrubbeln abzubekommen (nervt die Kids). Die Poolanlage ist wunderschön angelegt und gut gepflegt, allderdings stehen die Liegen extrem eng aneinander und wie schon oft erwähnt sind bereits morgens um 8.30 Uhr fast alle Liegen mit Handtüchern belegt, obwohl an sämtlichen Pools dort vor 10.00 Uhr so gut wie niemand liegt. Ich habe mich bisher auch immer über die nervigen “Liegenreservierer” lustig gemacht und geärgert, nur hier blieb einem fast nichts anderes über als mitzuziehen, ansonsten hätten wir mit unseren Kindern nie ein Schattenplätzchen und zwei Liegen nebeineinander bekommen. Da die Anlage lt. Hotelleitung ausgebucht war war schon zu erkennen, dass hier einfach nicht genügend Platz für alle Gäste vorhanden ist. Unser Zimmer war in Block 12 mit MB, Küchenzeile war ok wenn man nur den Kühlschrank und die Ablagefläche nutzt, ansonsten nicht so appetitlich…das gilt ebenso für das gesamte Appartement, es war nicht eklig aber auch nicht gerade perfekt saubergemacht (unter Betten, Schränke und in Ecken lieber nicht so genau schauen…). Der Balkon war sehr groß, mit Tisch und 4 Stühlen und abends dort zu sitzen und aufs Meer und die Berge ringsrum zu schauen war herrlich. Wir hatten Halbpension plus gebucht , die Auswahl war beim Frühstück sowie Abendessen sehr gut und auch lecker und es wurde ständig alles aufgefüllt. Die Bestellung der Getränke ging fix, genügend Hochstühle sind vorhanden. Ich empfand es fast eine Meisterleistung des Personals, die hier die Tische so schnell gedeckt und wieder abgeräumt haben und auch noch so freundlich dabei waren. Die Lautstärke und Hektik in diesem proppenvollen Speisesaal mit massenweise kleckernden kleinen Kindern war schon extrem. Für Paare ohne Kinder mit Sicherheit schwer zu ertragen, uns hat es nach zwei Wochen auch absolut greicht, unsere Kleine wurde dort immer ganz zappelig weil man das ja von “normalen” Restaurants bzw. zu Hause nicht gewohnt ist. Ansonsten ist die Anlage sehr weitläufig und es gibt schöne autofreie Spazierwege gleich ab Hotel. Die Animation für Kids und Erwachsene am Abend haben wir nur ab und an genutzt, es war ziemlich laut und die Minidisco um 20.30 jeden Tag das Gleiche, gähn! Es war dort aber immer sehr voll, für viele Gäste (auch Kinder) anscheinend das “MUSS” jeden Abends. Wir sind abends lieber nochmal am Stand (da waren ab ca. 20.30 Uhr nur noch ganz vereinzelt Laute unerwegs, herrlich) oder in der nahen Umgebung spazierengegangen. Da es während unseres Aufenthalts doch schon sehr heiß war (tagsüber immer über 30 Grad) haben wir diese gemütlichen warmen Abendstunden abseits des Trubels doch sehr gennossen. Ausflüge der Varanstalter haben wir wegen der Kinder nicht gemacht, allerdings haben wir einen Mietwagen im TUI-Büro vor Ort gebucht und sind so weite Teile der Insel abgefahren, ging problemlos.
Noch eine Info zum Transfer über TUI: Hinfahrt war im Kleinbus (wir waren die einzigen Fahrgäste, klasse) dauerte eine knappe Stunde und Rückfahrt im Reisebus, da wir als letzte Gäste abgeholt wurden, dauerte ein gute Stunde, da hatten wir wohl Glück. Mitarbeiter der Reiseleitung, Gästebetreuung und Rezeption waren sehr freundlich, kompetent und hilfsbereit.
Fazit: Schönes, aber für uns etwas zu großes und überfülltes Familienhotel in Traumbucht und mit zuwenig Anschluß an “Land und Leute” wie wir es in anderen Urlauben erlebt haben – aber das ist ja Geschmacksache und liegt nicht zuletzt an unserem erst zweiten Urlaub zu viert!

Have just enjoyed a great 7 days at this property; it was an excellent all round holiday thoroughly enjoyed by us all.
We took the All In option which was very good. First class food with good variety each night. You can also use the 2 al a carte restuarants on 2 nights each week. The Italian is first class with a brilliant view over the beach. If not All In the prices of meals, drinks etc is reasonable so if you are planning to spend days out you may find B&B or Half Board enough, personally I thought the All In was very good value and allowed us to try some cocktails that we would probably not have ordered if we had had to pay each time!
The apartments a very clean, as is the whole site, comfortable for 2 adults and a child, some of them are larger if you have a bigger party. Sea view does mean that you will not be overlooking the entertainments area which though well ordered does go on to 11:30pm. The sea view is breathtaking, see attached from Block 13.
There are 2 outdoor (not heated) and one indoor pool. My 3 year old did not seem to think the outdoor pool was too cold, the accompanying adult was older and wiser and disagreed! It was though early in the season, I would imagine that in the summer it would be plenty warm enough.
There is an excellent team of entertainers who have a good and varied range of kids and adults events running thro’ the day, plus a mini-disco; again loved by the kids but another session of Agadou or Hokey Cokey would have turned me from cocktails to the neat hard stuff. Every night there was other entertainment too including tribute type bands, illusionists, acrobats. These were all first class and showed the hotel did not stint on this element, even early in the season.
Most of the guests were German or Swedish during the week with an influx of Spanish at the weekend. This did provide some communication challenges for my daughter but after about the age of 7 all the other nationalities seemed to speak some English. The animation staff were a mixture of West Europeans and unlike some places did look like the sort of people your kids would be OK with. They all spoke English reasonably well.
Cala Mesquida is about 45 miles from Palma airport in a beautiful cove with a well maintained soft sandy beach which looked reasonably child friendly. Apart form the 4 Viva resorts there is not much else at Cala Mesquida and a car is recommeded if you want to get around the island. If you are not on a package its also cheaper than taxis both ways. (Record Rent a Car Euro 180 for a Ford Focus for a week).
Apart form the obvious things above the hotel has a doctor on site every morning, great safety attention for the pools and activities, very helful staff in all the locations.
This was my first visit to Majorca and it was hugely enjoyable. I would recommend the island and particulary this location and hotel.

Die Anlage ist sehr weitläufig und an einer Klippe gebaut. Grundsätzlich ist das Hotel auch für Familien mit Kindern geeignet. Den Strand (sehr sauber) erreicht man über Stufen wobei ca. 50m Höhenunterschied zu überwinden sind. Das Essen war sehr gut und als Buffet angerichtet, welches auch 1,5 Stunden nach Eröffnung noch sehr ordentlich aussah. Extrem gestört haben uns zwei Faktoren: 1. die äußerst dümmliche Abendunterhaltung für Erwachsene; 2. der sehr schmutzige Poolbereich, wobei die Sonnenliegen derart eng aufgestellt sind, dass ein Verschieben fast unmöglich war. Gepaart mit fix verankerten Sonnenschirmen, mußte man sich entscheiden, wo man einen Sonnenbrand riskiert. Unmittelbar ausserhalb des Hotels gibt es zwei kleine aber sehr gut sortierte Supermärkte und ein Restaurant. Ansonsten weist die nähere Umgebung keine nenneswerte Infrasturktur auf.
Ein Leihwagen empfiehlt sich jedenfalls. Um diesen Preis haben wir bisher deutlich besseres erlebt.

Just returned from the Viva Cala Mesquida Resort in Mallorca. Weather was lovely, Just a stones throw from the beach, see the photo, but paid extra for the sea view. Booked direct with the hotel, 10% deposit, paid the rest at the end of the week. Booked late got a discount, paid about £650 ( just for the hotel) for 2 adults and 2 kids half board for a week.
There are 4 Viva establishments in Cala Mesquida, Resort, Club, Suite and Park. Club and Resort are both part of the same large complex and you can easily move between them, the entertainment may be more to you liking “on the other side”. Robbie Williams tribute was pretty good.
We stayed half board, and glad we did. Food was pretty good and plenty of it. If you like to eat out, Cala Mesquida only seems to have 2 Restaurant/Bars where you could eat, and in Oct when we went it was very quiet outside the Hotel. There are 2 shops where you can buy supplies, one of which is owned by Viva.
Not many Brits staying at the hotel, seems to be quite a lot of Germans, no problem there, in fact I quite like it like that.
Capdepara the nearest town/village is about 2 miles away, if you wanted to go there for a meal, along a unlit road with no pavement. We had a hire car for the whole week (from Palma airport) and so did not feel too isolated. If you do not want to hire a car you could feel a little out on a limb. Car parking for all the hotels is the public car parking down near the beach about 200 M from the Hotel entrance, not a problem in Oct but may be in the height of summer when the number of people visiting the beach from other parts of the island would increase.
Nice sandy beach about 400 m across sunshades and loungers available for a fee.
Would I go again? Yes
Would I reccomend the hotel? Yes if you like a quiet resort and are prepared to stay in the hotel, or you are prepared to hire a car, take a taxi or try and catch the bus to explore further afield.

Sind zum zweiten Mal im Cala Mesquida Ressort und konnten uns, trotz unveränderter Begeisterung für diese Unterkunft, nicht des Eindrucks erwehren, dass die Hotelleitung und das Personal durch den heuer, im Gegensatz zum Vorjahr, doch erheblich gesteigerten Menschenansturm etwas auf Nadeln war. Auffällig war vor allem das doch etwas unsympatische Schlangestehen vor dem Speisesaal und die penible Kontrolle der “Essensmarken”.
Abgesehen davon haben wir unseren Urlaub erneut in vollen Zügen genossen, allerdings beschlossen, beim nächsten Mal zeitiger zu buchen, um dann auch ein Zimmer mit Meerblick zu bekommen. Ansonsten wird es doch etwas laut, wenn man mal keine Lust hat, an den durchaus ansprechenden Abendveranstaltungen teilzunehmen.
